Jack Foley is the President of Theatrical Distribution for Focus
Features and Rogue Pictures and is based in the company’s Manhattan
offices. He oversees the distribution of all Focus Features and Rogue
Pictures releases in the United States and Canada. Focus Features
is a motion picture production, financing, and worldwide distribution
company committed to bringing moviegoers the most original stories
from the world’s most innovative filmmakers.
Mr. Foley has been with Focus since its inception in the spring of
2002. He has overseen distribution of such releases as Michel Gondry’s
critically hailed “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”; Sofia
Coppola’s Academy Award-winning “Lost in Translation”; Roman
Polanski’s “The Pianist”, which won three Academy Awards
(including Best Director and Best Actor); Todd Haynes’ award-winning “Far
from Heaven”; Francois Ozon’s hit “Swimming Pool” and
of course, Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain” which was nominated
for eight Academy Awards and is the company’s highest-grossing film
to date.
Over the past 25 years, Mr. Foley has been responsible for national
film distribution of many major film releases. Among the companies he has
worked for are USA Films, October Films, Miramax Films, MGM/UA, DeLaurentiis
Entertainment Group, and Columbia Pictures. Mr. Foley has also worked in theatrical
exhibition as a film buyer for City Cinemas, a New York-based theater chain.
Mr. Foley has been involved in charitable organizations including
Variety – The Children’s Charity and the Will Rogers Motion Picture
Pioneers Foundation. He is a member of the Board of U.S. Variety and is also
involved with the Research Center for Women in Somerset County, New Jersey.
